Choices, Vanity and Responsible Living

Our choices – be it what our homes are like, how many and what lights we use for the interiors (and which we leave on), or what laptops we use, or cars we drive, or the vacations we take, or places we go eat out at – are all at least as??dependent on how they look and feel and fit our mental image of our lives as they are on what we need, do or can afford in the larger context, and often more so.

Vanity seems to rule not just our projected persona, but self image as well.

Responsible living in this context is very very challenging, as a species. Its in the interest of the free market to strengthen this Vanity and control what the self image is about – and thats usually how advertising manifests itself.??
